Saint Anthony Hospital is making healthcare more accessible to the public with the completion of an 18,000-square-foot medical office lease within Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood where it will operate an expansive, full-service medical clinic to better serve its constituents. Jones Lang LaSalle is advising Saint Anthony Hospital on site search and location identification for its expansion program, and represented Saint Anthony Hospital in the transaction.
The new clinic will be located at 3057 W. 26th St., within the Pilsen Park Shopping Center in the heart of the Little Village neighborhood and less than five miles from Saint Anthony Hospital. The 100,000-square-foot center is anchored by a drug store and a discount mall.
“There is no better location in the Little Village neighborhood allowing Saint Anthony Hospital optimum access to its constituents,” said Jason Trombley, vice president Jones Lang LaSalle Retail Tenant Solutions. The selection of the Little Village location followed a comprehensive search and evaluation effort.
“We believe that our community deserves quality healthcare,” said Guy Medaglia, president and chief executive officer, Saint Anthony Hospital. “Our commitment is to not only heal the sick but to also provide education to our community on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
Saint Anthony Hospital is a non-profit, faith-based community teaching hospital. It has 151 licensed beds and averages 8,000 admissions, 2,400 births/deliveries and 32,000 emergency room visits annually. More than 1,000 people are employed at Saint Anthony Hospital.
With six clinics in the area, the hospital is embarking on a program to replace, reinvigorate and expand its presence in the community. According to Sydney Scarborough, managing director, Jones Lang LaSalle’s healthcare solutions group, “serving Saint Anthony Hospital fits with Jones Lang LaSalle’s commitment to enable growing hospitals to serve their communities.”
“The mission of Saint Anthony Hospital drives its goals,” Scarborough said. “By helping to identify the best opportunities and locate centers of care in the primary service area, we are pleased to be of service to the hospital.”
Among the services and practice groups that will be included in the new Little Village location are pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational medicine, rehabilitative services, radiology, ultra sound, dental and family practice.
The new clinic for the Little Village neighborhood community has been designed by Perkins + Will and is now being constructed for Saint Anthony Hospital by Pepper Construction. A July 1 opening is anticipated.
