The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc., (“Inland”) Vice President of Public Relations, Dayle Gillett, received the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois’ (“BBB”) Torchbearer Award at the 88th Annual Dinner on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Chicago Downtown Marriott.

“I am honored to receive the BBB’s prestigious Torchbearer Award,” said Gillett. “It has been a privilege representing Inland and supporting the mission of the BBB throughout the business community.”

The Torchbearer Award is the BBB’s highest honor and is presented to a business leader who has made great efforts to assist the BBB in spreading business self-regulation and promoting ethical business practices. Previous Torchbearer Award Honorees include Attorney General Jim Ryan, W. Clement Stone, Leo Burnett and Governor Jim Thompson. Gillett has been a strong supporter and a member of the Board of Directors of the BBB since 1991.

“Dayle Gillett is a true community treasure,” says Steve Bernas, president & CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois. “The BBB greatly appreciates all of her efforts. We are very fortunate to have such a giving and talented person as Dayle Gillett supporting the BBB.”

In addition to her work with the BBB, Gillett has been very active in numerous real estate, civic and charitable organizations. She is a founding director of the New Directions Housing Corporation, which develops and rehabs housing for low income residents; Chairman of the Inland Charities Foundation; Jury Commissioner of DuPage County; member of the Chairman’s Advisory Board; and served on the DuPage Airport Authority Board of Directors for 20 years.
