The annual conference focusing on transportation and logistics and real estate’s role in it will take place beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Oak Brook Marriott in Oak Brook, Ill.
The Chicago Industrial Properties program is shaping up, with the majority of the speakers lined up. This year’s conference will feature a roster of speakers that includes Craig Middlebrook, Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation; David Bercu, Colliers Chicago; Karl Heitman, Heitman Architects; Kris Bjorson, Jones Lang LaSalle; Chris McGrath, Providence Logistics; Adam Roth, NAI Hiffman; Kevin Matzke, Clarius Partners; Michael Murphy, CenterPoint Properties; John Gledhill, CBRE; Don Schoenheider, Liberty Property Trust; Tim Walsh, Exeter Property; Jim Martell, Ridge Property Trust; Daniel Smolensky, The Modal Group; John Grueling, Will County Center for Economic Development; Reggie Greenwood, Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation; Jim Tidd, Miami County (IN) Economic Development Authority; and Maria Choca Urban, Cook County Econ. Dev.
Craig Middlebrook will open the conference with a keynote discussion on the role and importance of water in the overall transportation and logistics process. Following that opening will be panel discussions on the state of the market, the corridors of opportunity and investing in distribution-oriented real estate.
“It’s a dominant theme … getting goods and materials from point a to point b,” said Mark Menzies, group publisher, Real Estate Publishing Group. “Part of that whole equation involves real estate: who owns it, where it’s located, how it’s designed, how it’s accessed, and more.”
Menzies said that the half-day Chicago Industrial Properties conference will showcase the relevant issues that bond industrial real estate and transportation & logistics together.
Registration for the event is $59 and can be completed at www.rejournals.comconferences.
