Starbucks Coffee Co. has signed a long-term, 13,679-square-foot lease for the entire third floor at 564 W. Randolph St. in Chicago. Seattle-based Starbucks will relocate its Midwest corporate headquarters and training center from 550 W. Washington St. – where it had been located for the past 10 years – when the lease commences in first quarter 2013.
Assistant Director Marc Brash and Executive Managing Director Lisa Davidson of international commercial real estate services firm Studley represented Starbucks in the transaction. The landlord, Sterling Bay, was represented by Senior Vice President Christopher Cassata of CBRE.
“While Starbucks’ former space at 550 W. Washington had a loft-like build-out, the building itself was very corporate,” Brash said. “564 W. Randolph, a true loft, will provide Starbucks with office space that is more consistent with its brand identity.”
Founded in Seattle in 1971, Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world with 19,763 stores in 59 countries, including 12,848 in the United States.
